Aminata Wadd is a dedicated professional working at the intersection of international development, public policy and social transformation, with an approach firmly rooted in gender issues. Her approach aims to link global dynamics with local realities with a view to maximising the impact and effectiveness of practices.
Her academic background, spanning the University of Montreal, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, where she specialised with a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development, focusing on gender, justice, ecology and health, reflects this desire to contribute to the development of innovative responses to contemporary challenges, whilst remaining deeply connected to African contexts.
Her professional experience lies at the heart of complex ecosystems, combining international institutions and local initiatives. In 2025, she put her expertise at the service of the Women’s Platform for Peace in Casamance (PFPC), actively contributing to the implementation of the KAARANGUÉ project and key peacebuilding initiatives. She also draws on formative experiences within the UNDP, in the Lake Chad Basin Stabilisation Facility, and at UN Women headquarters, where she contributed to international efforts to combat violence against women, notably as part of the Spotlight Initiative. With her ability to adapt, Aminata moves with ease in a variety of settings, whether institutional, community-based or intercultural. This agility enables her to navigate strategic challenges and on-the-ground realities effectively, by employing context-sensitive and people-centred approaches.
