Football has the power to bring people together around a common goal. Zero Malaria F.C. is an initiative bringing together a squad of globally renowned footballers, scientists, innovators and advocates behind one goal: ending malaria.

The Zero Malaria F.C. supports the Zero Malaria Starts with Me campaign’s aims to increase malaria awareness and urge greater action against this deadly disease.  We can end malaria when countries lead, science accelerates, the private sector engages as a strategic partner, and communities, especially women and youth, shape solutions.

• On World Malaria Day 2023, football legends Luís Figo and Khalilou Fadiga teamed up with Speak Up Africa and the RBM Partnership to End Malaria to announce an exciting new initiative.
• Through Zero Malaria FC, we’re using the energy of the 2026 World Cup to celebrate the progress made against malaria and the people helping make it possible.

Knowledge is power, and you’ve got to know your opponent’s play to defeat it. We’ll turn scientific milestones, wins and facts into shareable, inspiring content through hall-of-fame carousels, stat-led graphics, and quizzes, building awareness and belief that malaria can be ended through groundbreaking science.

We can end malaria, not someday but in our lifetime. Science is advancing faster than ever. New vaccines, treatments, malaria control tools and pioneering technologies, including gene drive and long-acting injectables are in development.

The Zero Malaria FC campaign toolkit is available in English and French. 

Inside the toolkit, you’ll find content featuring champions from across science, sport, advocacy and public leadership, milestone moments that connect landmarks in football history with major achievements in the fight against malaria, and progress highlights that showcase some of the goals already scored on the path towards a malaria-free future.
