Assane Sow is a Health Economist with over 15 years of experience in managing and
monitoring & evaluation of development projects, particularly in health, food security, social
protection, and education. He has strong expertise in designing and implementing
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems, knowledge management, and capacity
building.
Assane has worked with several international organizations, including Winrock International,
IntraHealth, Counterpart, and Catholic Relief Services, on projects funded notably by USAID
and USDA. In these roles, he led evaluations, developed data collection tools, ensured
reporting, and contributed to improving program performance and impact.
Bilingual in French and English, he combines analytical rigor, leadership, and mastery of
participatory approaches to enhance the effectiveness of development interventions.
He holds a Master’s degree in Health Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma (DESS) in
Economic Development, both awarded by the University of Auvergne, France
