Despite years of progress, malaria continues to limit the potential of women and girls in Africa, affecting health, education and economic opportunities.
With Africa’s private sector booming, now is the time to invest in inclusive, gender-sensitive, community-based health initiatives that support sustainable development.
The road to eliminating malaria remains possible. But without new momentum and adequate funding, millions of children and adults will lose their lives, and billions of dollars of economic progress will never be achieved.
The Voix EssentiELLEs Fund for Malaria Elimination, managed by Speak Up Africa, will serve as an entry point for private sector partners to invest in women-led community initiatives for malaria elimination in French-speaking Africa.
Targeting 21 countries in the region, the Fund plans to support at least 210 women-led community organizations by 2030, providing them with the resources and tools they need to achieve sustainable change.
The Fund commits to:
Aligned with national, regional and continental malaria strategies, the Fund is committed to mobilizing $4 million by 2030, creating new opportunities to promote gender equality and strengthen health impact.
Investing in leadership, equity and impact
The time has come to change the course of history. Faced with the resurgence of malaria and insufficient funding, we need to prioritize local, equitable and sustainable approaches. The Voix EssentiELLEs Fund for Malaria Elimination offers the private sector a unique opportunity to play a role in Africa’s health transformation, while reinforcing gender equality and social responsibility.
By supporting the Fund, companies can:
Together, we can build a future where malaria is no longer a brake on community development, and where women play a leading role.
